The National Academy of Medicine reported that, “racial and racial and ethnic minorities receive lower-quality health care than white people—even when insurance status, income, age, and severity of conditions are comparable” because of bias and discrimination. Let’s talk about the health disparities that exist and how it impacts the Black healthcare experience and how we can all recognize our biases to achieve a more diverse, inclusive and equitable healthcare experience for all.
