Why This Matters

Far too many students face the challenges of attending school without the basics they need to feel confident and prepared. Uniforms, hygiene items, and everyday essentials can mean the difference between a child walking into class ready to learn or feeling left behind.

Through this effort, the Southwestern Region will create a lasting impact:

  • Donations will provide uniforms, hygiene items, and shelving to sustain the closet.

  • The closet will be named on behalf of the Southwestern Region and lovingly maintained by our local chapters as a continued investment in the success of these children.

Together, we can ensure that no child has to worry about what they’re wearing when their focus should be on learning, growing, and dreaming big.

How to Participate

  • Members are asked to donate individually.

  • Alumnae Chapters: $100 donation per chapter

  • Philo Affiliates: $100 donation per affiliate

  • Undergraduate Chapters: $50 donation per chapter

We know this is a busy weekend with Area Meetings, St. Jude, Homecomings, and more—but even if you can’t be present, your donation ensures your support is felt and makes a direct impact on our youth in Area V.

About Caddo Heights Math/Science Elementary

Caddo Heights Math/Science Elementary is a public magnet school serving Pre-K through 5th grade in Shreveport’s Caddo Parish district, with an enrollment of approximately 383–426 students. Minority enrollment is very high, and nearly 90% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, highlighting significant economic need among families. Academic outcomes remain a challenge, with low math and reading proficiency rates, underscoring the importance of additional resources. As an underserved school, Caddo Heights continues to rely on ongoing community-led support to ensure students have the tools and confidence they need to succeed.
